I’m Engaged! ♥

8 Aug

My boyfriend of 5 years just proposed to me last 5 August 2011, his birthday! 🙂

My new bling! ♥

I love how simple and classic my e-ring is! 🙂

round cut solitaire diamond with VS1 clarity and I color

14K white gold --- good for everyday use

It was the birthday boy who surprised me! Hehehe…

I wanna wear the ring everyday! If only I could. But I can’t. I take the public transpo when going to work and I don’t want to risk losing my ring. And I know that this was from my fiance’s hard-earned money. [Love you, honey hon hon! Thanks for the ring! :)]

P.S. Thank you, macro mode, for the beautiful shots of my ring. But you made my hand look old and wrinkly! 😦

Wedding Superstitions

21 Feb

We all know that Filipinos are superstitious. I, for one, am a wee bit superstitious. But I don’t really let feng shui and/or superstition rule my life.

For the superstitious brides out there, here are some info I have read online:

WEDDING GOWN COLORS
Married in white, she has chosen right.
Married in blue, her love will be true.
Married in yellow, she’ll be ashamed of her fellow.
Married in red, she’ll wish herself dead.
Married in black, she’ll wish herself back.
Married in grey, she’ll travel far away.
Married in pink, of you he’ll always think.
Married in green, she’ll be ashamed to be seen.

DAY TO GET MARRIED
Marry on Monday for health.
Tuesday for wealth.
Wednesday the best day of all.
Thursday for crosses.
Friday for losses.
And Saturday for no luck at all.

WEDDING MONTH
January — Marry when the year is new, he’ll be loving, kind and true.
February — When February birds do mate, you wed nor dread your fate.
March — If you wed when March winds blow, joy and sorrow both you’ll know.
April — Marry in April if you can, joy for maiden and for man.
May — Marry in the month of May, you will romance the day.
June — Marry when June roses grow and over land and sea you’ll go.
July — Those who in July do wed must labor for their daily bread.
August — Whoever wed in August be, many a change is sure to see.
September — Marry in September’s shine so that your life is rich and fine.
October — If in October you do marry, love will come but riches tarry.
November — If you wed in bleak November, only joys will come, remember!
December — When December’s snows fall fast, marry and your love will last.

From Forever Friends to Forever L♥ve

15 Feb

Here’s another swoon-worthy wedding, the wedding of Mr. and Mrs. Paruginog last 04 January 2011.

San Agustin Church

The couple met while they were studying at the University of the Philippines. Their platonic love for each other grew into romantic love and I believe that a relationship like theirs has the “best-est” foundation since they started out as good friends. 🙂

The bride is my friend from the office and it was such a privilege to be able to witness Jamie and Mike’s exchange of I Do’s.

Here are some of the pictures of this lovely wedding:

The bride's pretty shoes

My beautiful friend's bridal march song was Shania Twain's From This Moment On

Where's Atty. Fortun? Can you find him? Hihihi...

Spread The L♥ve!

12 Feb

It’s February and Valentine’s Day is fast approaching. This month, my blog is going to be about love, love, and more love!!! 🙂

My first love feature is the wedding of my good friends, Mr. and Mrs. Cervantes, who got married last 23 December 2010. 🙂

Gelo and Aecy

I asked permission from Aecy, my high school kabarkada, to feature their beautiful wedding on Twitterpated Me. And I want to thank her for agreeing because I’m sure the readers will definitely fall in love with Gelo and Aecy’s wedding once they see the pictures.

So without further ado, here are some of the photos of the wedding I’m gushing about:

Fantabulous wedding, right? And what made this wedding even more special was the donation of this kind-hearted couple to the scholars of Don Bosco Technical Institute – MSTC. Truly, a wedding with a heart! Aaawww…

Aecy and Gelo were both Bosconians (in case you're wondering why they chose to donate to Don Bosco)

The New Chapel of Caleruega

31 Dec

Some Catholic brides want a garden wedding. But since the Catholic Church does not allow weddings to be celebrated outside a Catholic church, the Dominicans did a great job by building a chapel with a garden wedding feel to it.

Caleruega now has an ADDITIONAL chapel. This one is at the picnic grounds.

I’m not really sure if weddings can be held here. Better contact Caleruega’s office for more information.

Damask Printed Matchbox

9 Mar

I saw these pictures on a wedsite:

I lurve anything damask!!!

According to the bride, she bought the matchboxes from Rustan’s Edsa Shangri-La. When I went there last Saturday, I could not find one at the Home Section. I don’t know where to find these!!! I would like to give this kind of match to 2 of my friends who will be getting married this December 2010.  Also, I would like to have one because I just love, love, love damask! And I could also use it for my wedding. Hehehe… I’m loving the white tips, too! And see the rough side of the matchbox (where you strike the match stick)? There’s still damask print because it’s slender and I love it!!! This really is a purdy match! I’mma try looking for one in Rustan’s Gateway Mall this weekend! Hahaha!

Caleruega Date on Valentine’s Day

19 Feb

My boyfriend and I went to Tagaytay last Sunday (Valentine’s Day) with my 2 friends. Yeah, it was pretty much a double date. 🙂

Surprisingly, there was no heavy traffic on our way to Tagaytay and going home to Manila. I guess, people did not want to brave the traffic on Valentine’s Day.

Anyhow, as soon as we reached Tagaytay, we went to Leslie’s Tagaytay (across Magallanes Square) to have lunch. After eating, we went to Caleruega in Nasugbu, Batangas. The first time I saw Caleruega (retreat during my senior year in UST), I instantly fell in love with the place.

When we got to the chapel last Sunday, there was a wedding going on. Wow! A Valentine wedding. Hehehe… My boyfriend also fell in love with Caleruega. He said the view from the top was breathtaking. He really likes nature. And while taking pictures of the chapel, he told me, “Honey, I want us to get married here.” What?!?! Caleruega chapel is very charming, but it is too far. Our families and friends might have a hard time going to the Chapel of Transfiguration. Wedding suppliers also have out-of-town charges. Besides, I like San Agustin Church in Intramuros more. 😛

Since we were sssooo late for the mass at Caleruega, we heard Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish at 6:30pm. We ate fishballs after the Mass and my friend introduced us to the parish priest of Lourdes. Fr. Peter was so nice and he even invited us to have dinner with him at Taal Vista. However, we decided to head back home since it was already getting late.

Jack and Jenn Catering’s “Unlimited” Use of Bridal Car

5 Feb

Okay, on my previous post, I wrote about Jack and Jenn Catering Services’ Php165K wedding package. While browsing their multiply site, I found this:

What a major boo-boo!

So I tried googling about this issue. I found out what happened by reading Aileen’s blog:

http://twistedweddingplanner.blogspot.com/2009/12/no-show-of-bridal-car.html

I also found Aileen’s friend’s blog:

http://myfilipinowedding.com/2010/01/11/the-bridal-car-that-never-came/

To Aileen and Jay, I don’t know you, but I’m so sorry to read about what happened on your wedding day.
