Wedding Superstitions

21 Feb

We all know that Filipinos are superstitious. I, for one, am a wee bit superstitious. But I don’t really let feng shui and/or superstition rule my life.

For the superstitious brides out there, here are some info I have read online:

Married in white, she has chosen right.
Married in blue, her love will be true.
Married in yellow, she’ll be ashamed of her fellow.
Married in red, she’ll wish herself dead.
Married in black, she’ll wish herself back.
Married in grey, she’ll travel far away.
Married in pink, of you he’ll always think.
Married in green, she’ll be ashamed to be seen.

Marry on Monday for health.
Tuesday for wealth.
Wednesday the best day of all.
Thursday for crosses.
Friday for losses.
And Saturday for no luck at all.

January — Marry when the year is new, he’ll be loving, kind and true.
February — When February birds do mate, you wed nor dread your fate.
March — If you wed when March winds blow, joy and sorrow both you’ll know.
April — Marry in April if you can, joy for maiden and for man.
May — Marry in the month of May, you will romance the day.
June — Marry when June roses grow and over land and sea you’ll go.
July — Those who in July do wed must labor for their daily bread.
August — Whoever wed in August be, many a change is sure to see.
September — Marry in September’s shine so that your life is rich and fine.
October — If in October you do marry, love will come but riches tarry.
November — If you wed in bleak November, only joys will come, remember!
December — When December’s snows fall fast, marry and your love will last.

From Forever Friends to Forever L♥ve

15 Feb

Here’s another swoon-worthy wedding, the wedding of Mr. and Mrs. Paruginog last 04 January 2011.

San Agustin Church

The couple met while they were studying at the University of the Philippines. Their platonic love for each other grew into romantic love and I believe that a relationship like theirs has the “best-est” foundation since they started out as good friends. 🙂

The bride is my friend from the office and it was such a privilege to be able to witness Jamie and Mike’s exchange of I Do’s.

Here are some of the pictures of this lovely wedding:

The bride's pretty shoes

My beautiful friend's bridal march song was Shania Twain's From This Moment On

Where's Atty. Fortun? Can you find him? Hihihi...

The coolest grandma EVER!!! 🙂

Their wedding wouldn't be complete without their baby, Papols! 🙂

I loved their wedding to bits and pieces! It was not just a celebration of love but a celebration of friendship, too! 🙂

Let’s celebrate l♥ve — love for friends, relatives, families, significant others, and of course, love for God!

Happy Hearts Day, everyone! 🙂

Spread The L♥ve!

12 Feb

It’s February and Valentine’s Day is fast approaching. This month, my blog is going to be about love, love, and more love!!! 🙂

My first love feature is the wedding of my good friends, Mr. and Mrs. Cervantes, who got married last 23 December 2010. 🙂

Gelo and Aecy

I asked permission from Aecy, my high school kabarkada, to feature their beautiful wedding on Twitterpated Me. And I want to thank her for agreeing because I’m sure the readers will definitely fall in love with Gelo and Aecy’s wedding once they see the pictures.

So without further ado, here are some of the photos of the wedding I’m gushing about:

Aecy's purdy Aldo shoes and the couple's rings on their nature-inspired "pillow"

Loved the Avian theme! Very Martha Stewart-ish! 🙂

Congrats and Best Wishes!!! 🙂

Fantabulous wedding, right? And what made this wedding even more special was the donation of this kind-hearted couple to the scholars of Don Bosco Technical Institute – MSTC. Truly, a wedding with a heart! Aaawww…

Aecy and Gelo were both Bosconians (in case you're wondering why they chose to donate to Don Bosco)
