Trinity in the Shamrock Leaf

17 Mar

I just remembered that today is St. Patrick’s Day. We don’t really celebrate it in the Philippines unlike the Americans who party to get drunk every 17th of March. (Sorry, I didn’t mean to generalize Americans. I was just thinking of Barney Stinson on How I Met Your Mother… Hahaha! :D)

Anyhow, it was St. Patrick who introduced Christianity, specifically Catholicism, to Ireland by using the shamrock’s three leaves to symbolize the Trinity (God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit). It was also said that he drove away the serpents/snakes from Ireland.

Happy St. Patty’s Day, everyone! 🙂
